Facebook said that its AI model can forecast a patient's need for more intensive care resources up to
four days in advance that needs special care.
Research has been
conducted by the (AI) artificial intelligence unit by American social media
giant Facebook who is trying to support healthcare providers speculate in
advance if the infected patient of COVID-19 needs to take more severe care.
It was mentioned in the
blog post by Facebook that two AI models have been developed. Among which one
is based on a single chest X-ray and on the other side, the second one will
speculate the condition of the infected COVID-19 patient if the condition is
getting severe. In case if extra oxygen is needed by the patient will speculate
by the third model.
As per the reports, there was a collaboration b/w NYU
Langone Health’s Predictive Analytics Unit and Radiology Department through
which the chest X-rays are being done.
Generally, Facebook’s AI model is doing much better in
comparison to the human in terms of speculating the need of the patient’s for
more extreme care up to 4 days beforehand.
