US: Government has blacklisted Xiaomi and 8 other Chinese companies

The Trump administration is peeking on famous Chinese smartphone maker, Xiaomi just after Huawei lose the race.

On Thursday, 9 companies are added to the blacklist which shockingly also includes the world’s third-largest smartphone maker, Xiaomi by the US administration.

By a report, the companies that are been blacklisted will not be invested by US investors. The purchasing shares and securities are been blocked for companies like Xiaomi who are blacklisted and will deprive the stock which is existing by them by November 12, 2021.

Sadly, any proof on hoe Xiaomi or the other 8 companies are tied to the Chinese military has not been given by the Trump administration. The news of Xiaomi being blacklisted was very shocking and sudden as this company is the most popular electronic and smartphone company. Ahead of this announcement the administration of Trump had its eyes on blacklisting the companies like Semiconductor technology (SMIC) and telecommunications (Huawei). On a scale of 60, the Chinese companies are been blacklisted in which the world’s largest drone maker DJI and top semiconductor of China company SMIC comes under.

This point should be noted here that the blacklist is not similar to that of the US Entity List. Same as Huawei and DJI, without having a license Xiaomi can import US technology for some time.

But fingers are been crossed if the Biden administration overtakes the Trump administration and changes the decision from 20 January.

Till then let’s see how Xiaomi along with other 8 companies will respond to this immediate blacklisting situation and handle this.
