Turkey has launched an antitrust probe to facebook soon after the whatsapp new update.

 


The new update of Whatsapp has put the company in trouble as Facebook-owned instant messaging platform Whatsapp recently updated its terminology and also the privacy policy, which leads to sharing the data with Facebook and other companies as well. Users start receiving the acceptance notification while using WhatsApp and they must accept the terms and norms by 8th February otherwise they won’t be able to use the application.

By this move of the company the local users raised their concern about the privacy issues by which the Competition Board in Turkey has launched an antitrust investigation into Facebook and Whatsapp just after they update the privacy policy.

The authorities are also taking the action regarding this as they have considered them to be “suspended”. They will now look into the policy change break Turkish competition laws introduced to prevent the companies from destroying the image of market dominance.

On the other side, the citizens are being suggested by many government ministers to use other alternative instead of using WhatsApp which leads to BiP application receiving more than 2 million new users within 48 hours after the news of WhatsApp update.

 

Due to this update several other applications like Signal, Telegram has come in huge demand and increasing there users as they consume very little data rather than the Facebook-owned services.

The criticism for the updated terms and conditions for WhatsApp has been widely increasing which includes sharing the data of there users with Facebook network along with Instagram, even if the user has a profile over there.
