The new update of Whatsapp has put the company
in trouble as Facebook-owned instant messaging platform Whatsapp recently
updated its terminology and also the privacy policy, which leads to sharing the
data with Facebook and other companies as well. Users start receiving the
acceptance notification while using WhatsApp and they must accept the terms and
norms by 8th February otherwise they won’t be able to use the
application.
By this move of the company the local users
raised their concern about the privacy issues by which the Competition Board in
Turkey has launched an antitrust investigation into Facebook and Whatsapp just
after they update the privacy policy.
The authorities are also
taking the action regarding this as they have considered them to be
“suspended”. They will now look into the policy change break Turkish
competition laws introduced to prevent the companies from destroying the image
of market dominance.
On the other side, the
citizens are being suggested by many government ministers to use other
alternative instead of using WhatsApp which leads to BiP application receiving
more than 2 million new users within 48 hours after the news of WhatsApp
update.
Due to this update several other applications
like Signal, Telegram has come in huge demand and increasing there users as
they consume very little data rather than the Facebook-owned services.
The criticism for the updated terms and
conditions for WhatsApp has been widely increasing which includes sharing
the data of there users with Facebook network along with Instagram, even if
the user has a profile over there.
