Cyberpunk 2077
fans have something to be happy about, Cyberpunk got its first “major” fix, so to
say, in the form of Patch 1.1. CD Projekt Red, the developer of the game,
shared the changelog for the patch on the official website and said it is out
for PC, consoles, and Stadia. It focuses on stability improvements, some visual
fixes, fixes for quests, and more. There are some console-specific and
PC-specific changes as well. Last week, co-founder of CD Projekt Marcin Iwinski
posted an apology video wherein he promised a major patch coming within 10 days, and looks like the developers have delivered.
The
information on the performance improvements is less specific but CD Projekt Red
does mention that it has improved memory usage across all platforms. I didn't
see a particularly big improvement in memory allocation in some areas of the game that I'm familiar with that max out my VRAM but your mileage may vary.
In
terms of PlayStation-specific changes
for Cyberpunk 2077, performance on the PS4 Pro and PS5 has been optimized, and there are crash fixes for the PS4. Xbox users
can expect improved memory usage for various aspects of the game. For PC
users, Steam achievements would
be possible to get in offline mode. Start-up crashes have been fixed as well.
On Stadia, corrupted textures on
several melee weapons have been fixed, default dead zone settings have been
made more responsive, along with other fixes.
Cyberpunk 2077
Patch 1.1 on PC ranges from 5.4GB to 6.7GB and on consoles, it is 17GB in size.
Since its launch,
players have observed numerous bugs and performance issues with ‘Cyberpunk
2077’ since its launch last week, especially on the ‘Xbox One’ and PlayStation
4.
If you
were expecting changes to the AI or other fundamental aspects of the game, then
you won't find them here. Version1.1 still plays the same as before, just has
fewer bugs. CDProjekt Red says this update lays the groundwork for the upcoming
patches and that the focus was on stability improvements and bug fixes.
Hopefully,
future updates would bring some more gameplay and content related changes while
continuing to fix the bugs.
